Notes From The Governor

From the Administrator….
Summer may be coming early this year as already the weather is warming up. With this change of weather comes the departure of our snow birds. We have enjoyed having you here this winter and hope you will be back next year. Travel safely.
We are getting ready for elections for our officers for the 2014-15 year. Anyone inter-ested in running can secure a nomination form from the bar. We have the following openings:

Governor Jr. Governor Treasurer Prelate 3-yr Trustee

Anyone interested in running must have officer training. This past weekend we had a session in Kingman and I was pleased to see some interest.
It has been a busy two months. Gary and his crew are still working on repairs and enhancements to the lodge. Anyone wanting to donate their time or materials in any way can contact Gary. The Lodge, Legion and Women of the Moose continue to provide a great break-fast on Sunday mornings.
Our new Queen of Hearts game is up to about $2200. It is held on Saturday nights. Tickets can be bought between 5 and 6 p.m. with the drawing taking place at 6:00. You must be present to have a chance of winning. We are half way through the deck of cards. Stay and eat dinner with us and enjoy our entertainment.
You will notice some new faces as we have been trying out some additional entertainers as well as keeping Captain, Kim, Mike and Rex. We try to have something for everyone.
As we come into the summer months, keep in mind if you wish us to continue entertainment on Saturday nights you must support your favorites.
Our Kitchen Manager Debbie has been doing a great job keeping us all well fed. We hope you are enjoying the Alaska Cod. We feel we have a good variety of food 6 nights a week. If you have any suggestions please feel free to give them to Debbie.
The Women of the Moose continue to have lots of projects going on. The money they raise from these projects goes to support our #1 charity the children at Mooseheart and the Seniors at Moosehaven. They also support many local charities and contribute to projects go-ing on in the lodge. They hold lots of projects to support all this. Keep up the good work ladies. Thanks again Kathleen and Eric for the fantastic job you are doing with our bulletin and email blasts. Make sure you fill out a form at the bar if you wish to receive them.
We have a horseshoe tournament going on right now and anyone interested can see Kevin. Jerry and his crew will be fixing their St Patty’s day menu on the 17th of March. Installation will be held on April 19th with a covered dish dinner to follow.
Our Mid-year convention will be held the first weekend of March. Brothers and co-workers interested in running for office will be attending as there will be much knowledge to be gained.
Our prayers go out to the families of our recently deceased members and members who are ill.
Come out and support your lodge. Remember you are what makes our lodge so successful. God Bless Mooesheart and Moosehaven.

Notes From The Senior Regent

Today finds lots of us getting ready for the Mid-Year Conference in Albuquerque, NM. Unfortu-nately not myself since I recently broke my ankle. This is my last newsletter as Senior Regent and I want to thank all the co-workers for being so supportive. I couldn't have done it without you . I hope all of you keep up the great work under the new Senior Regent as I will dive right in as soon as my ankle will allow. I wish everyone going to Conference a fun time and a safe trip. Thanks again for all of the hard work. Sincerely yours,

SR Regent

Membership is crucial to our organization. It is imperative that we receive change of addresses so that our members may receive their dues notice and their new cards. So often someone pays their dues in the Social Quarter but they don’t give new address and we have no way to get their card to them. Dues can now be paid on line as well as mailing them in. We also will take your payment at the Lodge. If you wish to pay on line yourself all you have to do is go and hit pay dues. It will allow you to make your payment with a credit card.
If you let your dues lapse, you cannot enter your lodge home as a guest until after 1 year of lapsed dues. Without your dues paid up you are not able to come into the lodge or make purchases. Unpaid dues means you are a member not in good standing.
We hope that with the privileges your membership gives you, it more than returns your year’s dues. You receive reduced prices on purchases, you can get discounts on rental cars, insurance, car rentals, medicines and many more items. You have a safe place to meet with friends. You have the opportunity to live out your remaining years at Moosehaven but most of all it gives us a great feeling of satisfaction in knowing how much our dues means to the children at Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Anyone needing more information, please see me.
If you enjoy your membership why not encourage your friends to join so they too can take advantage of all the benefits we offer.
