So many great things happen when you belong to not only a great fraternity but an extended family.
You can go to the lodge and no matter what time of day there is always a friend to spend time with or just stop
in and say hi. When you need that extra boost they are always there.
Several of our member had the pleasure of attending the International Convention this year in Las Vegas
NV. I have to admit it was a tough start from being told I did not exists in the computer to being told to
stand in the corner and wait for help to being shushed like a child while in an entrance way. All this in day one
first thing in the morning but I have to admit the trip did improve. I was able to meet new members from
everywhere and to hear about them and their lodges or chapter and the different things they do. They had and
shared an over whelming love for the Moose and it was very contagious. It was great to be able to catch up
with our own members and listen to the different events and meetings they went to. I was able to receive my
Academy of Friendship along with 2 members and this was extremely touching and meant a great deal. We
also had one member receive her College of Regent, Congratulations to everyone.
Convention also brought changes — many of us do not like change but sometimes change is necessary
to move forward, so we try and keep a positive and open mind to accept the things we can not change but
make them the best changes we can in a positive way. So when they are published lets all keep an open mind
and make these changes the best we can and remember our chapter is what we make it and that is the important
thing to remember. So lets continue to enjoy our chapter and our members and plan great events. WOTM
were able to donate $500.00 to the renovation walk at convention - Great job to our members for their hard
work to be able to do this along with so much more.
Now on to some fun events our moose float was a successful event and several members had a great
time, great job Gary and Donna on the Moose Float and its success. We also start July of with the 4th of July

the month. Just a save the date moment on August 23 we will have a steak dinner cooked by Jerry and crew

On another remember in order to have successful events we must work together as a team nothing
happens with just one person so if you are interested in putting an event together or helping on the breakfast
or a dinner please come forward and let us know we could always use help. Share your great ideas and volunteer
your time to our great team of members - I look forward to hearing from you.

Why We Ask You To.....
Show Your Membership Card
Doing so maintains our rights as a private organization ‐ and can, quite
literally, save your Lodge (and you) from financial ruin.
I have walked into several hundred Moose Lodges during my years as a member ‐ and every time, I have been proud
to reach into my wallet as I entered, to fulfill the requirement of displaying my Moose membership card. I have alwa
ys thought of this
small plasticized card as saying several things about me ‐ and about any other man or woman who carries one:·
It says that the holder is a fraternalism, a friendly person who enjoys the company of others ‐ and who stands ready
to help a fellow human being in need whenever he or she can. · It says that the holder is someone who holds a special place in his or her
heart for children. Through his or her Moose membership, he is doing
something real and tangible to provide hope and a better life for youngsters
in need, at Mooseheart Child City and School in Illinois.
