Notes From The Governor

Hi Everyone,

Well we had our elections and I would like to welcome the new Board of Officers for both the men and the women. I'm looking forward to working with everyone this year to do great things for the lodge. As a reminder for the men we would like to get a little more attendance at the general meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7 PM to get some of your ideas to help the lodge do better.

On May 19th, we are having the 3rd Annual Moose Riders "Run 4 Kids" bike run and on the same day we are also going to have the 3rd annual Chili Cookoff. We need contestants so please sign up. The sign up sheet is on the board at the lodge. We are also doing a Salsa contest with easy rules, so find out the information at the lodge. We have a lot of fun and would love to have a great turn out for the day.

Chili cookoff is $20 entry and the Salsa is a $5 entry fee. All the rules are at the bar. That's all for now and don't forget to go on the website mooselodge1860.org to get the latest updates on what is happening at the lodge.

Fraternally,

Jerry Taaffe, Governor

Notes From The Senior Regent

Wow, its hard to believe we are in the last 2 months of my year. What a year its been!!! I want to thank everyone for their help, without you I wouldn't have been able to complete this year on my own!

After we get home from conference in Albuquerque, NM I will still be doing the Bake Sales every Friday night. Our WOTM meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. March 8th we will have our Chicken Enchilada Dinner for $6 a plate and the WOTM will be doing breakfast on March 11th. The 24th the Mini-Putt Putt Tournament will take place at Scooters. Registration will be at 11 a.m. and the Tournament begins at 12 noon. Please contact Shirley Sittel at 928-763-1127 or Kathy Rivira at 928-219-4344 to reserve your spot. The WOTM College of Regents Chairperson, Dee Carpenter will hold a Western Hoedown on Saturday, March 31st at 5 p.m. for $10 a person. We will have live music by the Charlie Conner's Band and we will be serving a Santa Maria Style Bar-B-Que dinner.

In April, we will have a Beef Stew Dinner Thursday April 5th for $6 a plate. Easter Sunday we will have a Ham Breakfast with cheesy potatoes and serve Mimosa's - please join us! Installation of New Officers will be Saturday April 21st at 1 p.m. with a Pot Luck to follow.

Membership Info:

Membership is crucial to our organization. It is imperative that we receive change of addresses so that our members may receive their dues notice and their new cards. So often someone pays their dues in the Social Quarter but they don’t give new address and we have no way to get their card to them. Dues can now be paid on line as well as mailing them in. We also will take your payment at the Lodge. If you wish to pay on line yourself all you have to do is go to mooseintl.org and hit pay dues. It will allow you to make your payment with a credit card.

If you let your dues lapse, you cannot enter your lodge home as a guest until after 1 year of lapsed dues. Without your dues paid up you are not able to come into the lodge or make purchases. Unpaid dues means you are a member not in good standing.

We hope that with the privileges your membership gives you, it more than returns your year’s dues. You receive reduced prices on purchases, you can get discounts on rental cars, insurance, car rentals, medicines and many more items. You have a safe place to meet with friends. You have the opportunity to live out your remaining years at Moosehaven but most of all it gives us a great feeling of satisfaction in knowing how much our dues means to the children at Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Anyone needing more information, please see me.

If you enjoy your membership why not encourage your friends to join so they too can take advantage of all the benefits we offer.
